It was just a plot point to get Buu revived that was it. Watching Buu Kai every time they cut back to the Majin Vegeta I honestly was rolling my eyes thinking to myself is this really not done yet? Please get back to the other stuff. The same with the Majin Vegeta vs Goku fight, with Goku having SS3 that fight just seems super pointless in hindsight and Toriyama wisely chose to not concentrate on it much because it would just be a waste time there were far more interesting things going on with Gohan, Shin, Babidi and Dabura than watching Goku being a twat and holding back in his super mega fight with Vegeta.
The Vegetto stuff was still way too much of a drag for me to be honest, why they kept Base Vegetto is beyond me, it is pointless as a viewer watching such a one sided fight and in fact it makes things even worse because it makes Vegetto's superiority feel even more and as viewer I am less interested in the rest of the arc now since Vegetto should killed him, his mission was to save the others so he was't gonna make the kill okay whatever but then Toriyama made the fight short and sweet in the Manga because of that, the anime was just too lumbering, even in TFC.
